Preface

This collection of critical reflections by students on the BA (Hons) Sociology degree at Leeds Beckett University, is an excellent record of the achievement of those studying on this course. Each of the reflections demonstrates the ability of the author not only to use the tools of the social sciences to analyse and interpret the world around them, but to communicate this through clear and concise writing for a wider audience. The products are critical, vibrant and incisive commentaries on the contemporary social world that shed light on the everyday and allow us see the familiar through a different lens.
